I still haven't fixed the physical version problems, but not from a lack of trying. It's just that CreateSpace is awful. They gave me a template that I followed and it still isn't working for them. I'll not go into it further, but it's frustrating.
The big news is that BPGP is now on Smashwords! This means if you don't have a Kindle app or don't like Kindle, you can get it in a few other formats. I don't recommend the online version, the text is formatted like crap. The PDF version is great, so go with that, just my opinion. The price is now $1.99 at the conclusion of the release sale. Also, 20% of the book is available for FREE on Smashwords. That's a lot more than my preview on blogger.
Things are going okay overall, but I'm not sure what I'm doing as far as marketing goes to be completely honest. I'll treat it like the Twitter account. I couldn't get follows for the life of me six months ago. I hit my stride and figured out a system and now the BPG twitter account is approaching 4,000 follows. Promoting the book isn't any different... well it is, but let's say it isn't in the scheme of things. I have to figure out what works.
I'm working on the second book in the series The BulletProof Ghost: In Spades. The Prologue is done, so yay! It's going pretty well, but I have some more outlining to do.
Thanks for the interest again. Stay tuned.

The BulletProof Ghost at Geek Galaxy Comic Con! (and the physical version of BPG:P too)
Edits: The physical version is down for the moment... CreateSpace is just turning out awful. I'm trying to work things out with them, but I may have to use another vendor to distribute the hold in your hand copy. Updates as they come. Sorry about this everyone.
So updates galore! First and foremost, the physical version of The BulletProof Ghost: Prototypes is in the CreateSpace store! You can have a hold in your hand version of BPG: Prototypes for only $7 (plus shipping)! As soon as I get my first order, I'm donating several copies to libraries and various coffee shops in my area. Exciting! If you have an Amazon account and don't want to set up a CreateSpace account, it will be available on Amazon in 3 days. Also here are all of the international Ebook links in case you live outside of the U.S. I've got you covered.
Here's the official cover, spine and back of the book:
So the bigger news is that BPG is going to be at Geek Galaxy Comic Con. Geek Galaxy will be at 715 Locust St., Evansville, IN 47708 on November 15th and 16th. I've already reserved an Exhibition Booth, so it's a done deal. We'll have signed copies of The BulletProof Ghost: Prototypes, button pins, shirts and other swag. I'll post up the designs for all of the swag up here, the Twitter, etc. We'll also hold a drawing for a package that includes one of everything we're selling at Geek Galaxy. This will be BPG's first con, so this will be awesome.
I want to make an announcement about the next book in relation to Geek Galaxy, but I can't promise it as much as I want to. The plan if everything works out is to release The BulletProof Ghost: In Spades at Geek Galaxy Comic Con, but it might not be done by then. I don't want to sacrifice quality in order to get them out on time (plus I have to talk to CreateSpace to see if I can get copies in advance, if not, there are local printers I can get the first batch made through). If it looks like this will be possible, then I'll make it official, but right now, it's a nice thought.
Thanks again for the support and I hope this is just the beginning for the series.

Let's get Physical
The first sample physical copy of BPG: Prototypes came in today. It doesn't have a back (my fault due to a formatting error). This is pretty big step. The digital version's been up for several days, but having a real book in my hands is a unique feeling. Now I just need to get the word out more.
I'm looking into indy book conventions, maybe I can get some traction there. Online interest seems high, but whether it'll translate into sales...? Sales aren't really the concern for the first book, just getting as many copies of Prototypes into people hands as I can. I'll be donating several copies to every library I can get to in the next month or so.
CreateSpace let's book stores buy copies of Prototypes once it's available online. I'll make some calls, send out some free samples, see what bites.
For the next couple of weeks, I'll be working on Saturdays, so I'll get as much of the outline of the second book, The BulletProof Ghost: In Spades, as I can. I hope to start writing the next book by September. I'll also be updating the long neglected BPG Universe and BPBios sections. I'll update the current sections with spoilers from the first book (labeled of course). Though come to think of it, making a BulletProof Wiki would be a better use of my time.
Thanks for the support and let's get this rolling!

The BulletProof Ghost:Prototypes is now available for Kindle!
The BPG Sage begins here. |
The BulletProof Ghost: Prototypes is now available on Amazon Kindle for the low price of $.99! Thanks to all of the support and interest. I'll be posting updates on the Twitter account more than any other site, so keep an eye on that (or the Facebook that reposts my tweets). This is only the beginning and I'm hoping to keep this momentum going. Stay Tuned.

The Beginning is Nigh
His death is only the beginning of the story |
So for many of you who've been following The BulletProof Ghost, it's been a long journey. In 2011, I started to try to take an idea I had for years (since high school) and turn it into a comic book/graphic novel. This process went through two Kickstarters(Kickstarter 1 and Kickstarter 2) and ultimately didn't get the needed funding. This was at the end of 2013.

I hit a wall and wasn't sure where to go. Originally BPG was going to be a novel series, but the original versions were written when I was in high school and needed to be restarted from absolute scratch. I refused to look at the old versions and used the comic scripts as a framework. A lot changed about the plot due to not having to worry about the cost of artwork.
The BullProof Ghost: Prototypes, the first volume, has been more or less finished, but unedited for a few months now. My wife and I had our first child and things were super busy for a while. Editing took a back seat to little baby Xander.

Now the book is edited (with a couple of alterations needed during the weekend).
The BulletProof Ghost: Prototypes should be released on
Saturday, August 9, 2014.
This is the date for the DIGITAL version. I hope to have the physical version out, but that may take an extra week or so. I'll keep you posted when I know for sure.
Thanks for the patience through the years and I hope this is the only the beginning of a multi-saga novel series. Who knows, maybe BPG can travel to other media if the readership increases enough. I've given thought to a possible web series in the future, but one step at a time. Stay tuned.
