The Kickstarter is up and Running

Check out the Kickstarter here.  In case you're new, Kickstarter is a crowd funding website.  On KS you can pledge amounts of money and earn rewards.  The reward levels range from $1 to $2,500 and include Issue #1 of the comic, both physical and digital, a full on statuette/figure of BPG, posters, production credits, special edition graphic novels and promotional materials.  You can even be part of the BPG team at Comic Con and help us at our booth.

The process starts by clicking on that link and choosing a reward level (located on the right side of the page).  If you aren't registered on Kickstarter, then go through that process, which involves getting registered on Amazon.  Buying a reward level is like buying a product on Amazon, so you know you're not getting gypped (not that I would rip anyone off in any case).

If our goal of $4,000 isn't reached, NO MONEY is taken out of your account.  This by extension means that the project received $0.  If this Kickstarter doesn't work out, I'm not sure of the future of BPG.

Pledge as soon as you can.  The Kickstarter ends November 9, but the more we have pledged right away, the more legitimacy the project has.  You can increase, decrease or even cancel your pledge at anytime before Nov 9.  Thanks for the support and we can make this happen together.  If this is funded fully, I'll probably throw some sort of party, so if you're local or semi-local, you will be more than invited and I'll post the details on here, twitter, facebook, etc.

Bleed Out

This song reminds me a lot of the end of the original linear second issue of BPG.  I haven't fit this scene into the new format, but I know that I don't want to mess this the structure too much, only add detail...

Waiting... Please Stand By

Well if you hadn't noticed, the Kickstarter for BPG has been delayed for weeks.  Due to new regulations Amazon Payments need way more info than they used to.  I originally labeled BPG in the wrong business category (I would hardly call it a business at this point).  So I had to cancel my old account and start a new one.  Now they need my ID, so I sent it and they said it was too blurry.  So now I have to send it again.  So that's where we're at currently.  Waiting for Azon Pay to stop holding up the process.

Once this is all done, the Kickstarter can begin.  The Twitter Feed is the best place to get by the minute updates on the goings on of the comic.

I was also considering using my own funds to get a page of in-comic art made, but something important came up... more news on that next week.  Stay Tuned.

Kickstarter Reward Comparison

In case you're new to The BulletProof Ghost or Kickstarter, I'll give you the low down before I get into the rewards comparisons.  Kickstarter is a crowd funding website where people can pledge money towards different art projects.  Backers (as they're called) don't give money out of the kindness of their hearts.  Though most of them definitely want to see the projects come to fruition, the pot is sweetened by the rewards they are promised.

The person running the Kickstarter Campaign promises rewards for each level of contribution.  The backers have to be registered with Kickstarter (just like all other websites with accounts and log ins) and they also need to have an Amazon.com account with a debit/credit card attached.  Then it's as simple as buying a VHS or a Sega Genesis cartridge (too old school?  It's like buying anything else on Amazon).  This means that the person running the Kickstarter can't pull more money out of your account or what have you.

Each money amount corresponds to a level within the campaign reward system.  Here is the first Kickstarter we did last year for an example.  This pics aren't showing up now for some reason... probably to save storage space since it's no longer active... Enjoy...

Pledge $1 or more:
Last year: Thanks on the website.

This year: Thanks on the website and in the comic both hard copy and digital.
Hopefully that will help a little.

Pledge $5 or more:
Last Year: All of the Above and Thanks in The BulletProof Ghost Issue #1: The Trials of Cybernetic Prototype 005 as well as a free digital copy of the issue.

This Year: Same, plus a free button pin.
I thought about giving a hard copy of Issue #1, but I would have to raise the goal amount, because I wouldn't be making anything off of the $5 level... so a button pin it is... I promise it will be a sweet ass button pin.

Pledge $10 or more:
Last Year: There was no $10 level.

This Year: All of the Above and Free Hard Copy of Issue #1, signed by Jake Harris and Scott Loesch.
Last year, you had to pledge $15 to get Issue #1's hard copy.  I'm bringing it a whole level down.  If you just want the comic, then $10 and I'll throw in the digital version, thanks on the website/in the comic and the sweet ass button pin.

Pledge $15 or more:
Last Year: All of the Above and Free Hardcopy of Issue #1, signed by Jake Harris and Scott Loesch; plus a free digital version of the script.

This Year: Same minus the digital version of the script.  I posted the scripts online since I did the first Kickstarter, there's no point in sending backers versions of the script at the moment.  The ADDITION will be a promotional comic with bios of all of the characters from the first arc.  This will more than likely include artwork not seen in the comic itself, as well as characters that won't be seen until later issues.  The only other way to get this Promo Comic, is to be at a convention that we're promoting at.  Last year this appeared as a bonus with the $100 level.

Pledge $20 or more:
Last Year: No $20 Level

This Year: All of the Above plus second hard copy with alternate cover.  This was originally at the $50 level, but this level seems more fitting for another hard copy.  The alternate cover will be funded directly from this campaign.  It will be an image of Kyle and Four facing off against each other with William in the background watching his creations destroy each other.

Pledge $25 or more:
Last Year: No $25 Level.  I skipped from $15 to $30 last time, which was a mistake.  People like to pledge at all types of levels and cutting those levels out might have been a deterrent.  I also maybe thought it would force people to pledge higher, which was a dick move and I apologize, besides I paid for it with an unsuccessful Kickstarter.

This Year: All of the Above plus a softback graphic novel version of Issue #1 with all concept art, promotional bio information, biographies on the creators and a preview to Issue #2.  I checked the pricing on Ka-blam and this is not only doable, but will give the backer all BPG content to date (at that point and time).  If we get over funded, I may even throw a little more into the graphic novel.

Pledge $30 or more:
Last Year: All of the above and BPG T-Shirt.

This year:  This level is the same... a bitchin' T-Shirt is yours with all of the other goodies at this level.  This is the best deal in my opinion.

Pledge $50 or more:
Last Year: All of the Above and also a special limited edition with alternate cover (Signed by Scott and Jake) and all concept art.

This Year:  This is now the $20 Level minus the concept art, which is now part of the $25 level.  Which leaves the question what will now happen to the $50 level... all of the other levels will be the same... $50 will now get you a large poster of the cover of Issue #1.  If the project is over funded, this may contain original art.

All of the other Levels will be the same, except $500 level.

Pledge $100 or more:
All of the Above and have likeness drawn into a minor character in actual comic as well as a signed and framed version of the panel in which you appear in.

Pledge $250 or more
All of the Above and Free ticket to Chicago Comic Con 2014 as part of the promotion crew. If the project has enough funding or the comic sells well enough, this may be changed to San Diego.  The only problem is if you can't make it to which ever convention (if there is a backer that can go to Chicago and not San Diego, I will make it 100% Chicago)... if you can't make it to either, but want something of equal value, I will grant you that.  Just message me through Kickstarter once the campaign begins (my name's Jake Harris).

Pledge $500 or more
Last Year: All of the Above and will help us run the booth/table at Chicago Comic Con 2012 as part of the promotion crew.

This Year: This sounds like I'm putting the $500 back to work, which I didn't think about at the time I put this up.  If you give at $250, I don't see why if you wanted to help with the booth, why you couldn't.  I didn't think this one out last year, which is why the highest backer was at $200... he didn't want to get put to work.  So the $500 level is now All of the Above, plus all materials related to this First Arc of BPG.  This means you have faith that the comic will continue past Issue #1, but all graphic novels, comics, promotional materials, etc.  The first arc will more than likely be 6 issues long.  This will not include figures at first, but may if they are mass marketed later on.  It costs a lot to get that ball rolling.

Pledge $1,000 or more:

All of the Above and Free hotel stay and food ($100 allowance) for Chicago Comic Con 2014 as part of the promotion crew.

I don't think this will happen, but if you funded a fourth of this campaign and it succeeded?  You'd be worshipped the whole time you were hanging with us at Comic Con.  I'm also not promising it'll be a nice hotel... but we'll be in the same boat.

Pledge $2,500 or more
All of the Above and a custom made statuette of The BulletProof Ghost.

This costs hundreds of dollars to put in motion, but once it's made, I can make others for cheaper.  This will be over 50% of the funding.

Pledge $5,000 or more
0 backers

All of the above, every volume of BPG ever to be released as well as every piece of merch, advertising, and possible visits to the making of any alternate medium BPG expands to (animated, cinema, etc.). Something this huge would earn our eternal thanks and everything that follows will be result of your generosity.

I left the amount of backers on this one.  This is $1,000 more than we need to get the project rolling.  I might even interest anyone who wants to throw this type of money at my dream in a profit sharing agreement.  Message me at tremordeth@live.com if that is up your alley.

Well there it is.  I'll be putting the Kickstarter up before I go to sleep tonight, unless there is a complication of some sort (wouldn't surprise me).  Thanks for the interest.

BPG Issue #1 (Non-Linear)... the script I plan to use for the actual comic

This is it.  The script I'm planning on using for the first issue of The BulletProof Ghost, if the Kickstarter is successful.  It starts out where Issue #3 originally started (plus the small flashback at the very beginning).  I'll start getting the Kickstarter ready now.  Stay Tuned.

PAGE ONE (8 panels)

Panel 1.  The view is from KYLE’S perspective.  He is in DILBANE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.  He is approaching the gymnasium.  His vision is a little blurry around the edges.  You can’t see any of KYLE’S body.

1 KYLE (narration box, different from the later narration box, this is a present tense thought box of the non-cybernetic version of the character)

I HAVE TO SEE HER.  I’M… PRETTY SURE…

Panel 2. KYLE is looking down.  His hands are covered in blood.

1 KYLE (narration box)                                 I’M PRETTY SURE I’M GOING TO DIE.

Panel 3.  The panel is black, like KYLE went blind.  NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 4.  KYLE’S sight is back, but it’s a little blurrier.  He is really close to the push bars on the gym’s doors.  He is reaching for the door with his blood covered hand.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     I’M STARTING TO FEEL SLEEPY… I… DAMN IT.  COME ON, KYLE.  I JUST NEED TO SEE HER… BEFORE I GO…

Panel 5.  KYLE is looking at his feet.  There’s blood all over the floor, running down his legs

and pooling around his shoes.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     IS ALL OF THAT ME?  HOLY SHIT…

Panel 6. KYLE is pushing the door open.  The girls’ gym class is in session.  There’s the

teacher and about a dozen girls playing basketball.  IRENE is in the middle of the group on

defense.  They are where DJHS gym clothes (will include visual reference).  NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 7. Everyone looks at KYLE (aka the reader).  They look shocked and unsure of what to

do.  KYLE’S vision is getting blurrier still, mostly around the edges of the panel.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     I MADE IT… I CAN’T BELIEVE… IT…

Panel 8.  The panel is twisted on its side.  KYLE is falling, so the view should reflect that.  He

is in mid fall, his legs have given up and his body has fully gone into shock from blood loss.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     SHIT…

PAGE TWO (4 panels)

Panel 1. The panel is black again.  No Dialogue.

Panel 2. KYLE’S vision is back, but only the center is clear, everything else is indecipherable.

He sees IRENE holding him up and crying.  She is hysterical.  Her face looks like she is scared,

worried and panicked beyond most people typically get. One of her best friends is bleeding to

death in her arms at the age of 13.  Tears are streaming down her face.  There are people in the

blurry haze standing and watching the scene.

1 KYLE (narration box)                      I CAN’T HEAR HER.  I CAN BARELY SEE.  I WISH

SHE LOOKED HAPPIER… BUT… I’M STILL GLAD.

Panel 3.  IRENE’S turning her head away while still holding KYLE while he looks up at her.

She is closing her eyes tight.  She is hyperventilating from the stress.

1 KYLE                                               I... NEEDED TO SEE YOU.  I WANTED TO BE WITH

YOU WHEN THE END CAME.

Panel 4.  The panel goes black one final time.  KYLE has now died. NO DIALOGUE.

PAGE THREE (1 panel)

TITLE PAGE: The BulletProof Ghost: The Trials of Cybernetic Prototype 005

Side Note: The Narration boxes look different from this point in the story.  This portion is being told by KYLE in the future.

Panel 1. CYBERNETIC PROTOTYPE 005 has SYNTHETIC PROTOTYPE 003'S(SYNTH 3) wrist blade an inch from his helmet as if dodging the strike.  The panel is tight on PROTOTYPE 005’s upper body.  His armor is slightly scratched and scorched.

1 KYLE (narration box, past tense, telling the story from the future)

I KNEW I COULD TAKE HIM.  I TOOK THE FIRST TWO SYNTHS OUT LIKE THEY WERE NOTHING.

PAGE FOUR (4 panels)

Panel 1. PROTOTYPE FIVE is using his boosters to hover above the ground while gliding backwards (he’s leaning backwards). One leg is raised with one of his knees bent. The Boosters and stabilizers on his body/armor are shining blue light.  The environment is like a forest with trees sparsely spaced out, but the walls are silver metal with some foliage/moss grow up from the bottom. There is medium height grass covering the ground with sections dug out or burnt due to the current fighting.

1 KYLE (narration box.)                    MY KINETIC BOOSTERS HAVE COME IN HANDY IN THESE FIGHTS.  MY MOVEMENTS ARE FLUID WHILE HOVERING.

Panel 2. PROTOTYPE FIVE is flying toward the panel/reader in a tight shot that shows the SYNTH 3 in pursuit.  FIVE is still facing the SYNTH meaning his back is facing the panel..

1 KYLE (narration box)                     AS WELL AS FLYING.  SPEEDS APPROACHING AND ABOVE SOUND.  SO SAYS...

Panel 3. WILLIAM is standing with his arms crossed watching the battle from far away.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     WILLIAM.  MY SO CALLED CREATOR.  I KNOW BETTER NOW.  I KNOW WHAT KIND OF PERSON HE IS NOW, BUT THEN I ONLY SUSPECTED.

Panel 4.  SYNTH 3 is striking at PROTOTYPE FIVE with its wrist blade.  FIVE is blocking the strike with his wrist blade.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     MY REFLEXES WERE FAST, BUT I WAS BEING WORN DOWN.  I FOUGHT TWO PREVIOUS SYNTHETIC PROTOTYPES FOR WILLIAM'S 'TESTS'.  THIS ONE WAS GAINING GROUND DUE TO MY INJURIES.

PAGE FIVE  (6 panels)

Panel 1.  PROTOTYPE FIVE'S chest section has a break (damage) in his armor.  A wound can be seen through the armor.  It is bleeding.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     THE NANITES, MICROSCOPIC MACHINES, IN MY BLOOD STREAM WERE RECONSTRUCTING MY BODY AS I WAS INJURED.  THOUGH THEY DRAW OFF MY POWER SOURCE, THE MORE I FIGHT AND BECOME INJURED, THE SLOWER THE NANITES WORK AS MY SOURCE IS DRAINED.

Panel 2. Same angle, but the wound is partially healed.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     THE SOURCE IS RENEWABLE, BUT ONLY IF I CAN REST.  ONCE IGNITED, MY SOURCE LASTS FOREVER.

Panel 3. This panel is a side view of the two fighting; still in the strength contest of wrist blades.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     IT KNEW I WAS WEAK.  IT KNEW IF IT COULD BREAK THE BLOCK AND THROW ME TO THE GROUND; THE FIGHT WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE.  I WOULD THEN BE KILLED.  IF I WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO HAVE KEPT FIGHTING HIM.

Panel 4. Close up on PROTOTYPE FIVE blocking the strike still.

1 KYLE (narration box) I'M NOT…

Panel 5. FIVE'S energy blaster pops out of the side of his forearm.  Blue light can be seen from the inside of the barrel.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     ...STUPID.

Panel 6. The SYNTH'S head is taken off of its body by the kinetic blast.  The blue blast has already carried the ripped off head about ten feet into the air in an arcing path.  FIVE looks a little off balance due to the blast (like he’s being pushed back).  NO DIALOGUE.

PAGE SIX (5 panels)

Panel 1. FIVE is walking away with the smoking, falling, headless body of SYNTH THREE in the background.  The headless body to leaning to the side as it falls.

1 FIVE:                                               HOW’S THAT?

Panel 2. WILLIAM is standing with his hands behind his back walking toward FIVE.

1 WILLIAM:                                      EXCEPTIONAL.  BETTER THAN THE OTHERS.

Panel 3. Close-up on WILLIAM’S black eyes.

1 WILLIAM:                                      THE OTHERS FAILED.

Panel 4. WILLIAM is turned toward a door in the background.  FIVE is walking next to him.

1 WILLIAM:                                      ONE MORE TEST AND THEN YOUR REAL TRAINING WILL BEGIN.

Panel 5. Close-up on FIVE’S helmet.

1 FIVE:                                               SO YOU’VE TOLD ME WHAT I CAN DO AND HOW I GOT THIS WAY, BUT WHAT’S YOUR STORY?  WHERE DID YOU GET THIS TECHNOLOGY?  I MEAN I’M SIXTEEN, I THINK, AND I LOOK 25 UNDER THIS ARMOR.  I AGED 12 YEARS IN 3 YEARS… WHERE AM I… HOW DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?

PAGE SEVEN (3 panels)

Panel 1. Side view of William with FIVE next to him.  WILLIAM towers over FIVE at about 7 feet tall.

1 WILLIAM:                                      MY PEOPLE LIVED ON AN ISLAND CONTINENT SEVEN HUNDRED YEARS AGO.  OUR TECHNOLOGY WAS MORE ADVANCED THAN YOUR PEOPLE’S TECHNOLOGY AT THIS MOMENT, A THOUSAND YEARS AGO.  I’VE USED THIS TECHNOLOGY TO STAY YOUNG.  THE SAME NANITES THAT HEAL YOUR WOUNDS AND KEEP YOUR SYNTHETIC SYSTEMS IN SYNCH WITH YOUR ORGANIC ARE THE SAME ONES IN MY BLOODSTREAM.  I USED A DIFFERENT STRAIN OF NANITES TO AGE YOU TO YOUR PHYSICAL PRIME IN A YEAR’S TIME.  THERE WERE OTHER PROCEDURES THAT I USED TO BRING YOU BACK TO LIFE AND TURN YOU INTO MY FIFTH CYBERNETIC PROTOTYPE… WE DON’T HAVE TIME FOR ME TO GO INTO DETAIL, BUT THAT’S WHERE YOUR 3 YEARS WENT.

2 FIVE:                                               THEN WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE OF THIS CIVILIZATION?  I WASN’T GREAT AT HISTORY, BUT I THINK I WOULD HAVE REMEMBERED SOMETHING ABOUT THAT.

Panel 2. The two are walking down the hall to another room. The hall is silver metal and very bland. The angle of the panel is from the front with both characters in frame.

1 WILLIAM:                                      WE WERE ISOLATIONISTS.  WE WERE AFRAID OF THE PRIMITIVE OUTERWORLD.  THE CONTINENT IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN WAS A FOURTH OF THE SIZE OF AUSTRALIA.

Panel 3.  Close-up on WILLIAM.

1 WILLIAM:                                      A VIRUS SWEPT THROUGH MY HOME.  IT KILLED MOST OF THE POPULATION WHILST I WORKED ON A CURE.  BY THE TIME I CAME OUT OF MY LAB ALL WERE DEAD OR TO FAR ALONG TO SAVE.  I WAS SAVED BY STAYING IN MY LAB FOR WEEKS ON END.

PAGE EIGHT (2 panels)

Panel 1. A view of Biodisia can be seen from above in a flashback like panel.  The island has some sparsely spaced towns here and there.  The structures look ancient in design, but with futuristic materials. Further definition needed.

1 FIVE:                                               WHERE IS THE ISLAND NOW?

2 WILLIAM:                                      I DISINTEGRATED IT SEVEN HUNDRED YEARS AGO WITH A STRAIN OF NANITES.  I SIMULTANEOUSLY WORKED ON A MOBILE ARTIFICIAL ISLAND COMPLEX IN THE ANTARCTIC WHERE WE ARE NOW. I BUILT A HOVER TRANSPORT TO GO IN BETWEEN THE TWO LOCATIONS.

Panel 2.  Biodisia is about half the size it was, having been slowly pulled apart by the nanites.  This process took decades, so the island should have the lower half missing, but looking like it’s a gradual process.

1 WILLIAM:                                      I USED THE LAST BATCH OF NANITES TO DISINTEGRATE WHERE MY HOUSE WAS AS I LEFT FOR MY NEW HOME.  A MASKING DEVICE KEEPS ME HIDDEN FROM PRYING EYES AND THE ABILITY TO MOVE THE ISLAND COMES IN HANDY AS WELL.  ALL EVIDENCE IS EITHER PULLED APART AT THE MOLECULAR LEVEL OR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN.

PAGE  NINE (4 panels)

Panel 1. FIVE and WILLIAM are walking through the doors into the new room.  The view is from the side facing FIVE. NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 2. FOUR in the middle of the room with WILLIAM and FIVE approaching him.  The view is from above.  FOUR’S kinetic panels are not lit up yet.  The room has a glacier-esque environment in the same vein as the forest environment of the other room.  The bottom is covered in ice, but the walls are metal with ice climbing its way up about five feet.

1 WILLIAM:                                      THIS IS YOUR FINAL TEST.

2 FIVE:                                               ANOTHER SYNTH?  WHAT IS THIS THE FOURTH ONE?

Panel 2. FOUR lands in the background on his back. FIVE is still in the foreground turning his head in FOUR’S direction. Ice chunks are still falling.  NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 3.  FIVE is getting up.  He is on one knee and is using his fist to prop himself up.  Some of the mesh from his right arm has become disconnected from the armor and is hanging freely.  This exposes portions of his organic arm.  FIVE’S right eye lens is cracked as well as some of his stabilizer circles/panels.  His is scorched and looks to have trouble forcing himself to his feet.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     I HADN’T BUILT UP THE EXPLOSIVE BLAST LONG ENOUGH TO FINISH THE JOB.  IF I HAD, WE’D BOTH BE DEAD.  IT CONNECTED WITH THE IMPACT POINT AND THEREFORE, TOOK MORE DAMAGE.

FIVE’S wrist blade is not extended.  What can be seen of FOUR is far worse than FIVE’S damage.  None of his kinetic panels are lit up, most are cracked.  Parts of his armor are littered around his body.  None of his skin is exposed to keep the surprise of the last panel.  NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 2. FIVE has his wrist blade extended.  The panel shows the front of FIVE’S armor from the waist up.  FIVE’S left arm is bent so the wrist blade is in view.

End of Issue

Panel 3. Close-up on FOUR’S helmet.  His eye lenses are lit up.

1 WILLIAM:                                      PROTOTYPE 004.  KILL CYBERNETIC PROTOTYPE 005.

Panel 2. FOUR lands on his feet.  The view is from the front with a closer look at the damage he took from the explosive blast.  There are some scorched sections and dents on top of the cracked panels and eye lens.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     ALL OR NOTHING.

Panel 1. Close-up on FIVE’S blaster with an orange glow coming out of it  If you haven’t noticed each type of energy blast has a unique color.  NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 2.  FIVE and FOUR are running at each other.  The view is from the side.  FIVE has his bladed hand up in the defense position.  FOUR’S hands are behind him as he sprints.  FOUR’S wrist blades are fully extended.

1 KYLE(narration box)                      I KNEW THAT THIS WAS RECKLESS.  THAT I SHOULD HAVE TRIED TO KEEP MY DISTANCE, BUT I NEEDED FOUR TO NOT BE EXPECTING MY NEXT MOVE.  KEEP HIM GUESSING.

Panel 1. FOUR is throwing an overhead downward arching roundhouse while FIVE ducks it.  NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 2.  FIVE is kicking FOUR’S ankles out from under him.  NO DIALOGUE.

Panel 3. FOUR brings his wrist blades down to the ground to try to impale FIVE.  FOUR’S right wrist blade punctures FIVE’S left shoulder.  Blood is coming out of the wound.  The right hand (KYLE’S left) is being held at the wrist to keep the blade from stabbing FIVE’S face as well.  There is a scratch down the front of the mask ending at the tip of the blade. NO DIALOGUE.

PAGE  SEVENTEEN (2 panels)

Panel 1.  The view is from the side.  The situation is the same as before, except that FIVE’S other hand has his wrist blade retracted and the blaster extended.  The energy blaster is pointed at FOUR’S stomach

1 KYLE (narration box)                     HE NEEDED TO THINK HE WAS WINNING.  THAT HE WAS GOING TO KILL ME WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Panel 2.  The same view, but an explosion is in between the two, separating them.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     I WAS HOPING IT WOULDN’T KILL BOTH OF US.

PAGE  EIGHTEEN (3 panels)

Panel 1. FIVE is on his back smoking, but sitting up slightly.  Ice chunks are falling all around and the ground is melted and cracked around FIVE. NO DIALOGUE.

PAGE  NINETEEN (2 panels)

Panel 1. Same view as the previous panel, but FIVE is on his feet walking toward FOUR’S body.

1 KYLE (narration box)                     THAT’S WHEN I NOTICED IT.  THAT’S WHEN I NOTICED ITS EYE LENS WAS SHATTERED IN THE BLAST.
